- Are these live exchange rates?
- No — we use static reference rates updated each quarter. They're accurate to within a few percent for major pairs but not suitable for trading or invoicing. For real-time rates, use your bank or an FX-provider API.
- Why not use a live API?
- Live FX APIs require paid keys and tracking, which we'd rather avoid. Reference rates are good enough for the common 'roughly how much is this?' question — and the tool stays free with no signup.
- Which currencies are supported?
- USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF, CNY, INR, BRL, MXN, ZAR, SGD, HKD, NZD, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, KRW, TRY, RUB, AED, SAR, THB, IDR, PHP, VND, MYR and ILS.
- Is my data uploaded?
- No — every calculation runs in your browser.
- Can I see historical rates?
- Not in this tool. For historical FX data, the European Central Bank's free download is excellent — and you can plug it into our scientific calculator if you need to do the maths.
