Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 April 2026
We use a small number of cookies and similar storage. This page explains each one, why we use it, and how to opt in or out.
Note on the four server-side conversion tools (PDF to Word, Word to PDF, PDF to PowerPoint, PowerPoint to PDF): these do not use cookies either. They simply upload your file over HTTPS, convert it on our server, and delete it right after — see the privacy policy for the full data flow.
Strictly necessary
t4f.consent.v1 — stores your cookie choice so we don't ask again. Set when you click Accept, Reject, or Save in the cookie banner.
Analytics (optional)
- Toolbox4Free Analytics — our own self-hosted, first-party pageview counter. When you grant Analytics consent we send a single background request per page load containing only the page path (e.g.
/merge-pdf/) and the server logs a timestamp. No cookies, no localStorage, no IP storage, no fingerprinting, and no third-party scripts are involved. To prevent abuse, the server briefly keeps a daily-rotated, salted hash of your IP in memory only — it is never written to the database. We use the counts to see which tools are popular so we know what to improve.
Advertising (optional)
- Google AdSense — serves the ads on this site. With ads denied, only non-personalised ads (if any) are shown; with ads granted, AdSense may set cookies that personalise advertising. See Google's policy.
