- How is GPA calculated?
- It's a credit-weighted average: multiply each course's grade points by its credits, add those up, and divide by the total credits. A high grade in a 4-credit course moves your GPA more than the same grade in a 1-credit course.
- What's the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA?
- Unweighted treats every course equally on a 4.0 scale. This tool weights by credit hours, which is how most colleges compute a cumulative GPA. It does not add the 5.0 'honors/AP bonus' some US high schools use.
- Which grading scales are supported?
- The US 4.0 letter scale (A–F with +/−), the Dutch 1–10 scale, and raw percentages. Pick the one your institution uses so the average is meaningful.
- How do letter grades map to grade points?
- The common US mapping: A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on down to F = 0.0. Institutions vary slightly (some cap A at 4.0 with no A+ bonus), so check your school's official scale.
- Can I compute a Dutch cijfergemiddelde?
- Yes — choose the Dutch 1–10 scale and enter your cijfers with their credits (studiepunten/EC). We return the weighted average on the 1–10 scale rather than a 4.0 GPA.
- What should I put for credits?
- Use your course's credit hours or ECTS points. If all your courses are equal weight, enter the same number (like 1) for each and you'll get a simple average.
- Can I add and remove courses freely?

- Is my data uploaded?

- How do I convert a percentage to a 4.0 GPA?
- There's no single official conversion — schools use different cutoffs. Use the percentage scale here for a weighted percentage average, and check your institution's own percentage-to-GPA table for an exact figure.
