Raise it to H only when the code will be printed small, on a curved surface, or with a logo overlaid in the middle — the redundancy is exactly what lets the center be obscured and still scan.
Choose your download format for the job: PNG is a fixed-resolution raster ideal for on-screen use and quick prints, while SVG is vector and scales to any size without blurring, which is what you want for large-format posters, signage, or embedding in a print PDF. Recolor an SVG in a text editor if you need brand colors, but keep strong contrast between the modules and the background or scanners will reject it.
